What Alcohol Actually Does to the Body

Before layering in GLP-1 medications, it helps to understand what alcohol does on its own. Ethanol is a toxin the liver prioritizes above almost everything else. When you drink, your liver shifts its resources toward processing alcohol, which disrupts fat metabolism, blood sugar regulation, and the hormonal signals that govern hunger and satiety.
